Repairing bricked Samsung T679 is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is connected.
Please note, MSM8255T is multi-core chipset – it has ARM11 and Qualcomm Scorpion cores. During power on sequence only ARM11 core is visible on the JTAG chain. If boots are not completely damaged and it comes up to initializing of the Scorpion core then Scorpion core appears on the JTAG chain too. This will shift ARM11 from TAP0 into TAP1 position on the chain, while current resurrector has the ARM11 core hardcoded at TAP0 position. Thus make sure to establish JTAG connection in the time range while Scorpion core is not visible yet.

To resurrect Samsung T679:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Samsung T679 JTAG pads;
  •  Make sure Samsung T679 is selected in the list of models;
  •  Insert battery and connect USB Data cable;
  •  If you use only battery, press Power On key;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally you can flash it using known flashing methods.

To enter download mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold ‘Volume Down’ key and press ‘Power ON’ button.

Repairing bricked LinkSys WRT54GL is easy with the RIFF Box. Router is powered on when power plug is attached. If connection process stops at “Establish communication with the phone…” just reset router’s power.
Current resurrector contains Boot, Configuration and Firmware zones for memory chip with ID 0x00C2/0x22A8

To resurrect LinkSys WRT54GL:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to LinkSys WRT54GL JTAG pads;
  •  Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  •  Make sure LinkSys WRT54GL is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Choose which areas to flash;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  De-solder JTAG wires;

Now router is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally you can flash it via UART using known flashing methods. Or you can do resurrection checking full clone resurrect option – this will re-write all flash memory contents.

Repairing bricked  HTC 7 Pro is easy with RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is connected.
Resurrector will re-flash radio’s boot zone and will re-write PDA’s SPL to 0.71.1000 or 0.00.1000 SPL version (depends on your choice). Additionally to SPL and Radio zones, the zone which contains Model ID is re-flashed too. Thus after resurrection phone will have Model ID = ‘PC9210000’.

To resurrect HTC 7 Pro:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to HTC 7 Pro JTAG pads;
  •  Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  •  Make sure HTC 7 Pro is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.

To enter download mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;

Repairing bricked Samsung I920 AP (PDA Part) is easy with RIFF Box. Due to some hardware pecularities, we recommend to use only battery without USB cable connected. Please note, during connection establishment phase you will have to press the Power On key twice.

To resurrect Samsung I920 AP:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I920 AP JTAG pads;
  •  Make sure Samsung I920 AP is selected in the list of models;
  •  Insert battery; make sure no USB cable or charger is connected;
  •  Press the Power On key;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  When it stops at “Establish communication with the phone…” press the Power On key again;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;

To resurrect Samsung I920 CP:

  •  Make sure Samsung I920 CP is selected in the list of models;

  •  Wait till AP part boots up completely;
  •  Click Resurrect button;

Repairing bricked  Samsung SCH-I500 Galaxy S Mesmerize/Fascinate is easy with RIFF Box.
I500 is based on the S5PCxxx Processor (ARM core is Cortex-A8). Please note the adaptive clocking mode (RTCK) is not available on this processor, so make sure to select a fixed TCK frequency.
To establish the JTAG connection attach battery cable and press Power On key.
In case after resurrection the download mode is not initiated (LCD remains blank) do repeat resurrection with ‘Clone Gremlin zone’ option checked.

To resurrect Samsung I500:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I500 JTAG pads;
  •  Attach battery cable and press Power On key;
  •  Make sure Samsung I500 is selected in the list of models;
  •  Make sure a fixed TCK frequency is selected;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;

Repairing bricked LG E510 with the RIFF Box is not very hard but it requires non-beginner soldering skills (since JTAG pads on board are very small and are close to each other).
Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC. Battery presence is not required; connection can be established with detached board.

To resurrect LG E510:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to LG E510 JTAG pads;
  •  Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  •  Make sure LG E510 is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods

To enter emergency mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold ‘Volume down’ key and press ‘Power ON’ button. In few seconds you should see emergency mode screen saying “DOWNLOAD MODE”.
